How to get to Varano
From Rome (Roma)
Fly into Rome Fiumicino Airport, FCO (“Leonardo da Vinci”). From the airport, take the Leonardo Express (Trenitalia, 14 EUR) or any shuttle bus to the Roma Termini (4-8 EUR). To find the shuttle buses: Exit baggage claim and turn right in the direction of terminal 5. The ticket counter is located on the right, or tickets may be purchased from a salesperson outside directly in front of the buses. (N.B. Before you reach the ticket counter, you will walk past Good Buy Roma, Tourist Information, and Chef Express.)
From the Roma Termini, take the train to Salerno. If necessary, take a train to Napoli – get off at Napoli, and take another train to Salerno. (Do not hesitate to ask Trenitalia personnel for help.) The festival staff will meet you in Salerno
Please purchase your train tickets in advance: www.trenitalia.com. Send your arrival time to the festival director.
Only a few trains go through Eboli every day. We STRONGLY recommend that you spend the night in Rome, to get an early start and to avert conflict caused by (somewhat inevitable) flight delays from America. (You do not want to find yourself stranded in Napoli!) You can find several hostels near the Roma Termini. We suggest:
Freedom Traveller Hostel
M&J Place Hostel
From Naples (Napoli)
Fly into the Aeroporto Internazionale di Napoli. Take the Alibus (the official airport bus) or the local bus (no. 3S) to the train station (Stazione di Napoli Centrale). Take the train to Salerno. (Do not hesitate to ask Trenitalia personnel for help.) The festival staff will meet you in Salerno.
