Sustainable Sounds
Chamber Music Campania in collaboration with Porter Farms presents Sustainable Sounds: a concert of wind quintet music at an organic farm August 17, 2014, 2:00 pm We invite you to join us for a fun afternoon of chamber music and an inside look at sustainable farming at Porter Farms (5020 Edgerton Road, Elba, NY ).
Sustainable Sounds promotes healthy communal relations among artists, audience members, and the suppliers, producers, and makers of food. This event re-imagines the concert hall as a place for the exchange of creative actions between musicians and farmers––the craftsmen and women of the musical and agricultural "arts." HOW TO GET TO PORTER FARMS: The Rochester Community Foundation has generously sponsored a charter bus from downtown Rochester to Porter Farms. The bus leaves at 1:00 pm, from the School Without Walls (480 Broadway, Rochester, 14607), where FREE parking is available. The bus is scheduled to leave Porter Farms at 4:15 pm and return to downtown Rochester at 5:00 pm. Guests are also welcome to drive to Porter Farms. The concert begins at approximately 2:00 pm. WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHS AND CLOSED-TOE SHOES (e.g., boots, walking shoes, tennis shoes). $20 – adults $12 – students FREE – children 10 and under Tickets are no longer available for this event.
